Overview

The Staff Accountant will analyze, research, and prepare FirstKey Homes financial information to support monthly reporting deadlines. This role will require continuous communication and maintaining relationships throughout field markets and the corporate office.    



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist with routine accounting activities such as preparing and adjusting journal entries.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Participate in timely completion of month-end close by preparing financial schedules and analysis.
  • Communicate updates and requests to field markets and corporate office leaders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience and/or education.
  • Master’s degree and/or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 1-year experience of overall accounting
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), must be comfortable using vlookups and pivot tables

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using Yardi or similar property management program
  • Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
