Overview

The Process Engineer plays a fundamental role in solving operational inefficiencies with the development and implementation of technology. This role will drive operational process improvement projects where technology is part of the recommended solution.  S/he will partner closely with the business’ management team to thoroughly understand operational problems, develop technology solutions and influence the modification and/or creation of new KPIs to measure business success. The Process Engineer will navigate a fast pace, high-growth environment that requires adaptability, ability to absorb and synthesize data quickly and being comfortable working in a less structured, continuously evolving environment.  

Responsibilities
  • Immerse oneself into business units to understand processes, policies and technologies. Act as a business leader to assess current state and restraints of problems that affect end users. Partner with leadership to develop strategies and expectations that allow for implementation of win-win technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners to conduct interviews with end users to understand the intricacies of their duties, challenges, and addition stakeholders to identify operational inefficiencies.
  • Partner with Software platform SMEs and Developers to understand existing platforms. Leverage understanding of software capabilities to design elegant solution that solves business problem but fully considers ease of use for end users.
  • Analyze and synthesize many different data points, out-of-order pieces of information and place it into chronological order to make best business recommendations based.
  • Develop business cases that summarize the business issues, suggested solutions, costs, risks and project plan.
  • Effectively manage project by balancing personal contributions with holding business stakeholders accountable to contributing to projects. Solicit support as needed. Call out potential risks to project's success and suggest alternatives.
  • Document and review policies, procedures, standards, and templates that govern system frameworks.
  • Generate process maps to depict how processes and information within and between organizational entities are connected. Create flow charts and swim lanes to analyze processes and identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies.
  • Redesign and implement procedures and policies with assistance of process owner to address inefficiencies.
  • Leverage technical writing skills to create supporting documents and/or manuals. Select appropriate messaging for audience and use diagrams, charts, graphic and, animations to increase end users’ understanding of content.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Operations Management or equivalent work experience and/or education
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading business operations projects across multiple departments
  • Knowledge of process architecture, methods, and frameworks, including proficiency in business process modeling and redesign, requirements management, and research tools
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)
  • Proven ability to interface, influence, and present to team members at various levels from Individual Contributor to C-Suite Executives
  • Proven ability to quickly absorb new information and to manage multiple projects simultaneously from ideation to completion
  • Strong project management skills, ability to meet strict guidelines and navigate a fast pace environment that requires consistent follow-up with stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of iterative change approaches for process improvement
  • Demonstrated ability with technical business writing
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Experience with Organizational Change Management
  • Experience working in a remote environment
  • Experience managing remote a remote team
