Overview

The Acquisitions Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for recording daily journal entries related to acquisitions in an accurate and timely manner. This position is also responsible for updating the workflow in the accounting acquisitions tracker, as well as communicating with the Acquisitions Manager and others on the status of the acquisition process. This position will be a key partner to the acquisition integration team, accounting team and business leaders throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain tracking system of acquisitions; ensure that assigned properties are correctly entered into the system.
  • Complete journal entry uploads for all assigned data.
  • Research and resolve any discrepancies related to acquisitions transactions.
  • Import journal entry uploads into accounting system and attach HUD statements for backup; inform manager that entries are complete.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Intermediate level Excel skills required
  • Experience using Salesforce and Yardi preferred
  • One to three years of related experience
  • Ability to interpret legal contracts
  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects with large data sets within strict timelines is crucial
  • Above average ability to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Possess strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented
  • Foster teamwork and mutual respect throughout the companAbility to maintain confidentiality and integrity of data
