Job Description


The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist provides financial and administrative support by ensuring FirstKey Homes receives rent payments, properly records transactions by posting receipts, and resolves discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. This role will further assist in onboarding new associates and helping lead projects assigned by the department manager.


  • Become a subject matter of an assigned market or Accounts Receivable function.
  • Manage new property acquisition conversions to new tenant ledgers.
  • Review and process tenant ledger adjustments and refunds.
  • Audit and reconcile tenant accounts.
  • Review and interpret leases.
  • Provide assistance and customer service to other employees.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, seeking manager approval when needed.
  • Monitor Aged Receivables Report and initiate corrections as needed.
  • Mentor new team members during their onboarding to ensure they understand systems, procedures and policies.
  • Lead and coordinate a group of peers to complete projects assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager.

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of overall accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3-years accounts receivable experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


  • Experience using Yardi or similar property management program
  • Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
