Job Description


The Renewals Specialist will assist current FirstKey Home residents with renewal services. This role will handle a high volume of outbound and inbound calls relating to resident renewals needs and assist with addressing needs that may need to be remedied for lease renewal.


  • Promote and ensure that First Key Homes is represented in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Enter and ensure accurate information is input into resident collection system (i.e. phone number, email, proper spelling of resident names).
  • Speak with residents to assure retention as it relates to their lease renewal.
  • Speak effectively and efficiently with resident to assure proper retrieval of documentation and assessing present needs in relation to maintenance, collections etc. to assure that proper attention and/or direction is given.
  • Diffuse and calm residents that may have isolated incidents that need immediate attention to provide the highest quality of customer service.
  • Close deals, grow revenue and negotiate rents on a case by case basis to ensure resident retention.
  • Identify priority items regarding maintenance issues and escalate to the appropriate market office in a timely manner.
  • Request and collect needed documentation as it relates to Section 8 recipients in order to secure their renewal for the upcoming year in accordance with their Housing Authority Program (“HAP”) agreement.
  • Follow all lease document retention policies. Upload signed documents in YARDI and attach to the tenant’s file, upload additional copy to lender and save on OneDrive for back up purposes.
  • Prepare assumptive lease packets in bulk to send to tenants with leases expiring within the next 90 days. This includes printing, sorting, stuffing, labeling and postage of packets.
  • Tally renewal counts within a week, month etc. to monitor whether or not optimum results are being achieved.
  • Audit renewals documents to ensure that all necessary initials and signatures are accounted for on each form.
  • Process renewals when received. Enter all relevant data into Yardi; record any concession amounts if applicable due to a renewal promotion, record daily log for tracking of Tenant Ledger Adjustments (“TLAs”) as they pertain to rent adjustments, credits, and concessions.
  • Assist residents with necessary document collection when resident has a change in occupant status within the dwelling (i.e. roommate release, change in marital status etc.).

  • High School Diploma or equivalence
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Minimum 1-year of full-time, successful call center experience
  • Must be bilingual 


  • Experience using Yardi Voyager or similar property management program
  • Prior leasing and/or sales experience
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company
