Job Description

Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist provides financial and administrative support by ensuring FirstKey Homes receives rent payments, properly records transactions by posting receipts, and resolves discrepancies according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.



Responsibilities

  • Process payments and record transactions.
  • Review and process tenant ledger adjustments and refunds.
  • Audit and reconcile tenant accounts.
  • Review and interpret leases.
  • Provide assistance and customer service to other employees.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, seek manager approval when needed.
  • Manage Section 8 and Housing Assistance accounts.
  • Monitor Aged Receivables Report and initiate corrections as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year of overall accounting experience
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience using Yardi or similar property management program
  • Experience working in property management, real estate or similar industry
  • Experience working in a fast pace, high-growth company

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Customer Service— Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Clerical— Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
